What the world should know about me

Vanessa Burg is a lecturer and senior researcher at ETH Zurich, with extensive experience from the Swiss Federal Research Institute WSL, the United Nations, and the private sector. Her research focuses on sustainable bio-resource management to drive the energy transition and circular economy. She is actively involved in various Swiss bioenergy projects, addressing biomass potentials, sustainability assessments, spatial analyses, and biogenic carbon capture to enhance resource efficiency and reduce environmental impacts. Using transdisciplinary methods, Vanessa combines geographic information systems, agent-based modeling, and surveys to provide both quantitative insights and qualitative perspectives. With a commitment to impactful science, she aims to generate knowledge that accelerates the transition to a low fossil carbon economy.
